Allah [سبحانه وتعالى] is the Truth, from Him comes the truth and His commands and management are the truth. The cause of the corruption of humanity originates from disbelief in Allah, the Creator, from disbelief in His commands and management and from disbelief in the Truth which He revealed. The cause of the goodness of this life originates from the belief in Allahو the belief in the Quran and obedience of His commands and will. Allah [سبحانه وتعالى] says;
“Whoever follows My guidance shall neither go astray, nor fall into distress and misery. But whoever turns away from My Reminder (That is, neither believes in this Quran nor acts on its orders) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection” – Quran [20:123-124]
“Guidance (hidaayah) is: [a] Elucidation (bayaan) and Indication (dalaalah) (to the path), then [b] Success (tawfeeq) and Inspiration (ilhaarn) (in following the path), and this comes after (the guidance of) elucidation and indication. There is no way to elucidation and indication except by means of the Messengers. So when elucidation, indication and acquaintance (of the path) has been obtained, there will occur, as a result of this the guidance of success (in following the path), the placing of faith (eemaan) in the heart and its beautification and endearment to it, making it (the heart) prefer eemaan, be pleased with it and aspire for it. There are two independent and distinct (types of) guidance. Success and prosperity cannot be gained except by them. They both contain the knowledge and acquaintance of that which we do not know of the truth, in both a general and specific sense, as well as our being inspired to the truth and being made to desire following it inwardly and outwardly. Then (they contain) the creation of the capability for us (by Allah) to perform the requirements of this guidance with respect to speech, action and firm resolution. (Then after all of this), being made to remain firm and established upon it until death. It is from the above that this extreme need of the servant for making this supplication is above every other need.“
It is narrated from Imam Malik that he used to say:
“Do not behave like lords when looking at the sins of people, but like servants. Thus have sympathy for those who are being tested, and praise Allah that you are saved (from those trials). And never say: This belongs to the people of the fire, and this belongs to the people of Paradise. Do not look down arrogantly on the people of sin, but pray to Allah for their guidance.“
Abu Dharr reported from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in what is related from what Allah the Blessed and Almighty said,
“O My slaves! I have forbidden injustice to Myself and I have made it unlawful between you, so do not wrong one another.
O My slaves! All of you are misguided except those that I guide, so seek My guidance and I will guide you.
O My slaves! All of you are hungry except those that I feed so ask me for food and I will feed you.
O My slaves! All of you are naked except those that I clothe so ask me for clothing and I will clothe you.
O My slaves! You make mistakes by night and by day and I forgive all wrong actions so ask for My forgiveness and I will forgive you.
O My slaves! You will never attain to My harm so as to be able to harm Me and you will never attain to My benefit so as to be able benefit Me.
O My slaves! If the first and last of you, all the jinn and all the men among you, possessed the heart of the most godfearing man among you, that would not increase My kingdom in any way.
O My slaves! If the first and last of you, all the jinn and all the men among you, possessed the heart of the most evil man among you, that would not decrease My kingdom in any way.
O My slaves! If the first and last of you, all the jinn and all the men among you, were to stand in a single place and ask of Me, I could give to every man what he asks without that decreasing what I have any more than a needle when it enters the sea.
O My slaves! It is your actions for which I call you to account and then repay you in full. So anyone who finds good should praise Allah and anyone who finds something else should blame none but himself.“
